Residents
Curbside Recycling - Bins are available for residents at the
Peters Township Municipal Building. New homes will have to
purchase a bin and older homes may have an existing bin.
Replacement bins and new bins are available at the Township
Municipal Building for $5.00. Never place recyclables in
plastic bags (including garbage bags) since they will be
discarded as regular trash.
Glass - All
Colors
1. Rinse
2. Remove plastic and metal lids and rings
3. Labels may stay on
4. No window glass, light bulbs, Pyrex or ceramics
5. Place in bin carefully - Do not break
Plastic - #1
& #2 plastics (milk, water, juice & soda)
1. Rinse
2. Remove all lids and rings including plastic caps
3. Remove paper labels
4. Flatten, if desired, to save space
5. No oil or chemical containers
Cans -
Beverage and Food Cans
1. Rinse
2. Ends can be included
3. Flatten, if desired, to save space
4. No paint cans
5. Aerosol cans must be empty
Newspapers
1. Recycle all paper that comes with your newspaper,
including inserts
2. Never tie or bundle newsprint
3. Newsprint materials can be placed in paper grocery bags
4. Stack newspapers in the bottom of your recycling bin with
other recyclables on top, or place newspapers under the bin
5. Do not put newspaper outside if rain is forecast - papers
must stay dry
6. Never include any plastic, magazines or phone books
Township businesses are
required to recycle office paper, cardboard, leaf waste and
aluminum. More information is available from Peters
