Phipps
Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Pittsburgh, PA is always fun to
visit during winter weather. Viewing the colorful
and exotic Orchids, as well as other tropical plants, provides a nice
respite from winter ice and snow.
If you're visiting the Pittsburgh area
and would like to visit the botanical gardens, Phipps is located just
beyond Carnegie Mellon University next to Schenley Park. Plant
collections range from seasonal flowers to cacti, bonsai, ferns,
succulents, and a wide range of tropical plants.
Themed displays include
intricate brick work, fountains, waterfalls and reflecting pools.
Outdoor gardens are open during warm weather. During our visit, one
wedding was in progress while another wedding garden was being
decorated.
