	BUXUS microphylla koreana 'Winter Gem' *Winter Gem Korean Boxwood* Very hardy boxwood with glossy evergreen foliage. Plants take well to shearing and make excellent hedges or individual plants. Growth to 4 ft x 4 ft.
	BUXUS x 'Green Mountain' *Green Mountain Boxwood* Cone-shaped, upright growth with dark green foliage. Moderate growth to 5 ft tall x 3 ft wide. Used for hedges.
	CHAMAECYPARIS pisifera 'Filifera Aurea' *Gold Thread Falsecypress* Bright yellow foliage year round. Grows to 15 ft without regular shearing- keep it trimmed in small beds. Very popular as a yellow accent plant. Some varieties are golder than others.
	CHAMAECYPARIS obtusa 'Compacta' Compact Hinoki Cypress Slow, compact growth to 6 ft tall x 3 ft wide. Sun to partial shade. Interesting foliage.
	CHAMAECYPARIS obtusa 'Crippsii' Golden Hinoki Cypress Slow pyramidal growth to 12 ft. tall x 6 ft. wide. Sun to partial shade. Protect foliage from winter winds.
	CHAMAECYPARIS obtusa 'Nana' Nana Hinoki Cypress Slow growth to 2 ft tall x 3 ft wide. Sun to partial shade. Interesting dark green foliage.
	EUONYMUS fortunei 'Emerald Gaiety' *'Emerald Gaiety' Euonymus* Vine-like moderate to fast growth to 3 ft tall x 5 ft wide. Great for a color contrast with its green and white variegated leaves. Watch for scale insects.
	EUONYMUS fortunei 'Emerald 'n Gold' *'Emerald 'n Gold' Euonymus* Moderate to fast growth to 3 ft tall x 5 ft wide. Great for a splash of color with its green and gold variegated leaves. Watch for scale insects.
	EUONYMUS fortunei 'Sunspot' Sunspot Euonymus Moderate to fast growth to 3 ft tall x 5 ft wide. Grow in sun to shade (sun brings out the best yellow variegation). Yellow branches add to the colorful effect of the yellow and green leaves. Deer love to eat these.
	ILEX crenata 'Convexa' Convex leaf Japanese Holly Evergreen with slow to moderate growth and 'cupped' leaves. Needs good drainage. Will get knocked-back by -10F to -20F winter temperatures.
	ILEX glabra 'Shamrock' *Inkberry* Evergreen shrub with dark green foliage. Used for hedges, groupings and accents. Slow to moderate growth to 7 ft tall x 7 ft wide.
	ILEX meserveae *Blue Princess Holly* Dense, dark blue-green, evergreen foliage makes this hardy holly very popular in the home landscape. Plants can reach 8 ft tall x 8 ft wide. Annual shearing will help shape plant. Females get the red berries late in the season if there is a male Holly in the vicinity. A very similar variety is 'Blue Maid.' Article: Holly Berries

	ILEX meserveae 'Mesog' *China Girl Holly* Lighter green leaf than the Blue Hollies, yet similar. Hardy, takes shearing well. Growth to 8 ft x 8ft. Red berries.
	JUNIPERUS chinensis 'Old Gold' *Old Gold Juniper* Outstanding gold color with growth to 3 ft tall x 5 ft across.
	JUNIPERUS conferta 'Blue Pacific' Blue Pacific juniper Fast growing blue-green evergreen that will tolerate more shade than most spreading junipers. Height to 1 foot with 8 foot spread.
	JUNIPERUS squamata 'Blue Star' *Blue Star Juniper* Rich blue foliage year round. Compact, slow growing plant to 3 ft across. Ideal for rock gardens and small beds. Nice plant.

	LEUCOTHOE fontanesiana 'Girard's Rainbow' *Rainbow Leucothoe* Grow in shade to partial shade. Slow to moderate arching growth to 4 ft tall x 5 ft wide. New leaves are multi-colored with pink, white and yellow. Drooping white flowers. Requires moist soil.
	MICROBIOTA decussata *Russian Arborvitae* Moderate growth to 18" tall x 5 ft wide. Prefers moist soil in partial shade with some protection. Flat evergreen sprays make it an attractive plant.
	PICEA abies 'Nidiformis' *Bird's Next Spruce* Dwarf spruce with compact growth makes it ideal for rock gardens and small spaces. Likes sun but tolerates some shade. 2 ft height x 4 ft spread.
	PICEA omorika 'Nana' *Dwarf Serbian Spruce* This compact, slow growing evergreen has dark green needles with silver bands. Tolerates urban conditions well.
	PICEA pungens glauca 'Globosa' *Globe Blue Spruce* Slow to moderate growth from this dwarf variety of Blue Spruce. Grafted on a 'standard' it has an ornamental lollipop look and serves well as a specimen plant. Maintains its shape well on its own, or it can be sheared for a uniform appearance.
	PICEA pungens glauca 'Procumbens' *Weeping Blue Spruce* Excellent silver blue color and weeping form. Remains low and spreading without staking. Displays best when planted so it can weep over a wall.
	PIERIS japonica *Andromeda* Evergreen with pendulous flowers in the spring that resemble Lily of the Valley. 'Mountain Fire' variety has red new growth. Slow growth in sun or shade. Watch for damage from Lace Bugs. Also see Pieris at flowering shrubs and photos of Pieris.

	PINUS mugo Mugho Pine Evergreen with moderate growth to 4 ft high and 7 ft wide. Trim new growth in June to maintain tight shape. Watch for sawfly in May.
	PINUS mugo 'Pumilio' *Dwarf Mugho Pine* Slow growth on the true dwarf varieties-- standard varieties grow faster. All varieties should have their candles trimmed in June to keep the best shape. Watch for Sawfly caterpillars in May.
	PINUS strobus 'Nana' *Dwarf White Pine* Soft, silver-green needles. Slow, compact growth to 3 ft x 3 ft. Sun to partial shade. Sensitive to salt spray.
	TAXUS cuspidata 'Capitata' *Pyramidal Japanese Yew* Pyramidal evergreen with slow growth to 40 ft tall x 50 ft wide. Tolerates heavy shearing.
	TAXUS x media 'Densiformis' Dense Spreading Hybrid Yew A dense shrubby form of Yew that lends itself well to foundation plantings. Moderate growth to 9 ft tall x 12 ft wide.
	TAXUS x media 'Hicksii' Hicks Yew Columnar evergreen with moderate growth to 15 ft tall x 5 ft wide. Can be used for evergreen hedges where deer aren't a problem.
	THUJA occidentalis 'Hetzi Midget' *Hetz Midget Arborvitae* Dwarf evergreen with slow ball-shaped growth to 2 ft x 2 ft. Ideal for rock gardens and small beds. Grow in full sun.
	THUJA occidentalis 'Lutea' George Peabody Arborvitae Moderate rate of pyramidal growth to 12 ft tall x 6 ft wide. Golden foliage creates a nice accent.
	THUJA occidentalis 'Rheingold' *Dwarf Golden Arborvitae* Golden-orange foliage year round. Slow growing to 4 ft x 3 ft. Keeps a nice shape without trimming.
	THUJA occidentalis 'Woodwardii' *Globe Arborvitae* Rounded shrub with dark evergreen foliage. Light shearing gives arborvitae additional strength and shape. Watch for deer browsing on most arborvitaes.
