Some of us grew up with trains running through our home towns and
dreamed of being an engineer or hopping a freight to somewhere unknown. Every time a midnight train whistled through town we tried to
imagine where the train had been and where it was headed.
As the mighty diesels powered-up leaving the city limits we wondered
how many train cars there were, 100? 120? ...maybe
more.
Was the train made up of boxcars, coal cars or flatcars?
How many diesels were pulling the train?
This page will serve as our tribute to trains, whether they be old
trains, model trains or railroad memorabilia. In the background we
see a set of Baltimore & Ohio diesels waiting on a railroad siding
in Washington, PA just in case they are needed to pull President
Eisenhower's express.
